Adelia Elizabeth Hughes
Mrs. Adelia E. Hughes, 84, died Saturday, Nov. 5, 1966, in the Milford Memorial Hospital, Milford, after a short illness. She was born February 16, 1882, the daughter of Samuel and Susannah Minner.
She was the widow of Albert T. Hughes of Felton.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Amy Reed of Dover; two sons, Tilden Hughes of Harrington and Nicholas Hughes of Holly Oak; a brother, Clifford Minner of Felton; three sisters, Mrs. Anna Moore of Frederica, Mrs. Ida Hughes of Felton and Mrs. Mary Cooper of Harrington; seven grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Adelia was a charter member of the Felton Community Fire Company Auxiliary. According to her granddaughter, Adelia Lenora Stephens [currently an Auxiliary life member], her grandmother spent a lot of time in the “sweet potato room”. Both of Adelia’s sisters, Ida Minner Hughes and Bertha Minner Jarrell, were also charter members of the Auxiliary.
