Ida Ray Hughes
Ida Ray Minner Hughes, of Main Street, Felton, died at the Milford Memorial Hospital January 13, 1976 after a long illness. She was born July 28, 1888, the daughter of Samuel and Susannah Minner.
Her husband, Benjamin Hughes Sr., died in 1947. She is survived by two sons, Clifford F. of Goldsboro, Md., and Benjamin Jr. of Harrington; a daughter, Dorothy H. Donaway of Felton; two sisters, Mary Cooper of Harrington and Annie Moore of Frederica; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
She was a member of the Felton United Methodist church and longtime member of the Avon Club of Felton.
Mrs. Hughes was a charter member of the Felton Community Fire Company Auxiliary. Ida’s sisters Adelia E. Minner Hughes and Bertha Minner Jarrell were Auxiliary charter members. Her niece, Adelia Lenora Hughes Stephens is currently an Auxiliary life member.
