Bea Harrington
Beatrice L. “Bea” Harrington at the age of 94 passed from this life early Christmas morning December 25, 2012 at Silver Lake Health and Rehabilitation Center in Dover. She was born July 1, 1918 near Vernon, west of Harrington to the late Charles and Doris Larimore.
She had worked for General Foods, the DuPont Company and the Felton School prior to her retirement. Following retirement she remained very active in community activities.
Bea was a life member of the Felton Community Fire Company Auxiliary where she soon would have celebrated 60 years of dedicated service.” Mom Mom Bea” worked in all areas of the auxiliary, in the dining room she helped set up and serve. In the kitchen she rolled dumpling dough, helped mix oysters and worked the laundry keeping the towels clean and dry.
She was also a member of the Felton United Methodist Church, the Harrington Senior Center, and the 30th District Democrat Club. Additionally she was a past member of the Avon Club and the Felton Historical Society.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded by her husband, George “Butch” Harrington, son Edgar Sapp, sisters, Evelyn Lare, Elizabeth Zeitler, Charlotte Deptula and Ruth Eye; brothers Harry Larimore, Stanley Larimore, Charles Westley Larimore, Everette Larimore, Louis Larimore, Russell Larimore and William West.
She is survived by her son, George “Butch” Harrington and his wife Terry of Felton; two grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews and many dedicated friends.
