FELTON, Del. - Delaware State Police say they have arrested a man for crashing his car car into a pick-up truck which then struck four cars and a house in Felton on Friday night.
Police arrested Scott P. Cassyd, 40, of Felton and charged him with DUI and two counts of vehicular assault. Shortly after 11:30 p.m., troopers responded to Route 13 south of Plymouth Road in reference to the multi-vehicle crash.
According to investigators, a 1999 Toyota Camry, driven by Cassyd was traveling on Route 13.
For unknown reasons, the Camry collided with the rear of a 2004 Toyota Tundra pick-up truck, driven by Duray Salman, 35, of Frederica, police say.
As a result of the collision, the Camry continued off of the east edge of the roadway and struck two mailboxes and a utility pole before coming to rest. The Tundra also continued off of the east edge of the roadway and struck four unoccupied, legally parked vehicles and a house, before coming to rest on its roof.
Cassyd was alone in his vehicle and he was not injured.
Salman and his 33 year-old passenger sustained non-life threatening injuries and were transported to Kent General Hospital.
Investigators say all occupants wore seat belts at the time of the crash and that alcohol was a factor on the part of Cassyd. According to police, there was no reported structural damage or injuries to anyone inside the house.
