FELTON, Del. - Police say one person is dead after a truck crashed into a car at an intersection in Felton on Friday.
Delaware State Police say the accident happened at 12:05 p.m. on Route 13 at West Evans Road. According to investigators, they say a 2008 Lexus 4-door Sedan was traveling in the right lane approaching a red light at an intersection.
Meanwhile, a second vehicle, a 1992 Ford Pick-Up truck was traveling behind the Lexus and failed to slow down and stop behind the car. As a result, the truck struck the Lexus in the rear causing the crash, police say.
The driver of the Lexus and two additional passengers were taken to Kent General Hospital for non-life threatening injuries. A third passenger in the Lexus was flown to Christiana Hospital where they died as a result of injuries sustained in the crash.
The driver of the Pick-up was also taken to Kent General Hospital for non-life threatening injuries.
The roadway was limited to one lane of travel as investigators examined the crash scene and has since been reopened.
Police say that they are continuing their investigation.
